I am learning to look at the first and last sounds in words to help me work out new words

In Reading we have been learning lots of things to help 

us to work out new letter sounds and words.

"I liked this story because it was fun" Jayden said.

In Writing we have been learning lots of things like writing our ideas in a sentence and writing some sounds in words.

"I can write some words by myself" Jayden said.

Rangoli Pattern

We have been learning about different celebrations this term.  This is my Indian Rangoli Pattern.  We were learning to make our pattern look symmetrical.

"I was good at drawing the symmetrical flower shape and colouring in the green petals."

Tens Frame Patterns

We have been learning to draw number patterns to ten on our tens frames.

"It was tricky for me to remember what the dot patterns looked like and to draw the tens frames."

In Writing we have been learning lots of things like letters, drawing a picture that matches our story and also remembering to do finger spaces between words. 

"I like doing finger spaces between words" Jayden said.

I am learning the attributes of numbers to 10

In Maths we have been looking for numbers in every day situations.  We have been making sets and coming up with different ways to write numbers.

"Here are 6 beads.  I can count to 6.  I see the number 6 on my way to the library."
